At Thrive, every consultation is with Dr Louisa Barter. You’ll never be passed on to someone else. Louisa will take the time to get to know you, your history, and your goals, so together you can create a plan that feels right for you.

What You Can Expect

• Comprehensive Pre-Appointment Assessment
  Before your visit, you’ll complete a detailed questionnaire that gives Louisa a full picture of your background and current symptoms. Whether it’s perimenopause or sports related.

• 45-minute Consultation with Louisa
  You’ll sit down with Louisa - in person in Rotorua or virtually - for a focused, unhurried conversation. This is your space to talk openly and ask questions, knowing you’ll be listened to.

• Personalised Management Plan
  Together, you and Louisa will map out a tailored strategy. This might include perimenopause management or injury rehabilitation, training adjustments, nutrition advice, medication, recovery techniques, or support for broader health concerns. You’ll leave with clarity and confidence, knowing exactly how to move forward and feeling good about it.

• Consultation Summary
  You’ll receive a summary letter directly from Louisa, and a letter will go to your GP or preferred health provider at your request.

• Investigations (If needed)
  If scans or blood tests are appropriate, Louisa will organise them and then provide a follow-up letter interpreting the results and explaining next steps. Typically most blood tests are free, however the cost of scans will be passed on.

• Ongoing Care
  You can email Louisa with short questions or clarifications. For more complex issues, she may recommend booking another session to give you the time and care you need. Most patients will have a follow-up consultation at around six weeks, with annual reviews once things are stable. Louisa can also provide repeat prescriptions throughout the year as needed.
