Dr. Louisa Barter is both a Sports and Menopause Doctor with over 15 years of experience in helping men and women reach their health and wellness goals.
As a GP with a Postgraduate Diploma in Sport and Exercise Medicine (PGDipSEM), Louisa provides expert care for sports injuries, performance improvement, and recovery support, no matter if you’re a professional athlete, new to fitness or anywhere in between.
With specialised experience in female health and as a certified menopause practitioner, she also offers compassionate, tailored care for women navigating menopause and perimenopause, focusing on managing symptoms and regaining vitality. Louisa collaborates closely with physiotherapists and other health professionals to ensure every patient receives comprehensive, holistic care.
Living in Rotorua since 2008 and an active runner herself, Louisa understands the value of staying strong and active and she’s here to help you thrive.

Dr Louisa Barter is a GP and mother of three, is a certified menopause practitioner, and holds diplomas in Sport & Exercise Medicine and Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare. As well as being a member of the Australasian Menopause Society and the International Menopause Society, practising Evidence Based Care.
